TORY
TORNADO RETURNS TO BOXING RING
MONMOUTH MP David Davies will be making his
next appearance in the boxing ring tomorrow night (Friday) at a special charity
event.
Mr Davies, aka the Tory Tornado, is one of a
number of people lending their support to the White Collar event at the
Grosvenor Hotel in Park Lane,
London. The aim of the evening is
to raise money for Gloves in the Community, a charity spearheaded by teenage
boxing sensation Amir Khan.
Over £30,000 was raised last year for youth
organisations in deprived areas of London
and it is hoped to raise a similar amount again this year.
"I'm looking forward to fighting once more
as the Tory Tornado, hopefully in the blue corner!" said Mr Davies.
"My opponent is a member of the Croydon
Labour Party, which gives it an added bit of excitement."
Mr Davies' last outing in the ring was in
April when he defeated the ‘Pink Pounder', Britain's only openly-gay boxer.
