SEEKS NOMINATIONS FOR BEST LOCAL CURRY HOUSE
MONMOUTH MP David Davies is seeking local
nominations for a competition to find the best South Asian restaurant in Britain.
The Tiffin Cup, now in its fourth year, is
an annual competition organised by MPs from all parties to applaud the quality
of South Asian food and raise money for good causes. This year, the event is
being held in order to support a charity in India.
MPs from across the country have been asked
to nominate their favourite curry house in their constituency. Once the
nominations have been made, 10 entrants will be short-listed and invited to a
special cook-in at the Houses of Parliament, where the overall winner for the UK will be
found. Every national finalist will be commended.
Last year's winner was the Mint and Mustard
in Cardiff.
Mr Davies said: "There are some great South
Asian restaurants in the constituency and I would urge curry lovers to contact
me with your favourites.
"I am sure that with such an esteemed award
at stake, competition across the country is sure to be as hot as the curry."
Constituents are asked to submit their nominations to daviesd@parliament.uk by Friday, 24th April 2009 at the latest.
