Welcome Centre Workshop in Monmouth

People in Monmouth are invited to a public workshop that will look at how a ‘welcome centre' in the town can be developed.

The workshop will look at ways the main arrival point into Monmouth alongside the River Monnow can be improved.

Planning consents exist for a welcome centre, new civic square and improved riverside access. However, proposals have proved controversial and the wider financial climate and limited availability of funding, cast doubt on the achievability of the proposal.

The workshop will review the business case of the current proposal and re-examine opportunities for progress with a view to creating a revised ‘brief' for an amended or alternative proposal.

The ‘Gateway Monmouth Public Workshop' will take place at the Ballroom, Bridges Community Centre from 6-8pm on Thursday 26th November 2009.
