Still time for Monmouth
kids to have fun during the holidays
7th August 2009
Five to seven year olds still have the opportunity to join in with the playscheme in Monmouth before the last session on 21st August.
The schemes give children the chance to take part in activities such as, arts and crafts, bouncy castle, fancy dress, discos, sports and plenty of games.
Richard Simpkins, who helps to coordinate the council run playschemes, said:
"Some of the most popular activities include healthy food preparation sessions, the fruit smoothie bike, NRG fitness
sessions, Dragon Sports, and Frisbee Golf - a disc game in which individual players throw a flying disc into a basket or at a target. There are also visits from organisations, such as the Police, Fire Brigade, SARA and the Library service".
"The children also have access to swimming as part of the scheme on a daily basis, which is proving very popular".
"The sessions are great fun for five to seven year olds. They run from 9.00am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday at £6 per
child per day."
