Sports club cash up for grabs

Sports clubs and associations in Monmouthshire can apply for up to £1000 of funding from Monmouthshire County Council to improve the services they offer.

Monmouthshire County Council has been awarded £37,500 to give to Monmouthshire clubs and associations that meet the criteria of the Sportlot Community Chest fund.

The fund is a Sports Council for Wales' National Lottery funded grant aid scheme that has operated in all 22 local authority areas since 1999.

The scheme is specifically designed to support the development of sport and physical activity at grass routes level. Clubs and Associations can apply for funding of up to £1,000 in any financial year.

Anyone who works with a project that looks to get more people more active more of the time can contact the council's Sports Development Department on 01633 644544 to see if they are eligible to apply.
