Speak
out for Dignity in Care in Monmouthshire
Actress and writer Amanda
Waring, the daughter of acclaimed actress Dame Dorothy Tutin, will be speaking
with older people and carers, in Monmouthshire, about her mothers experiences
of care.
‘Big Dignity Conversation'
will be hosted by Monmouthshire County Council and will bring older people,
carers and professionals together to share their experiences and views about
what they think makes care ‘dignified'
Liz Knight, Coordinator for
the Strategy for Older People says,
‘We are hoping older people
who have experience of care will come along and share their stories. We are
inviting any older person who has received or given care in hospital, their own
home, or in a residential home."
"We want to make sure that
care is given with real respect and dignity in Monmouthshire, and to do that we
need to find out what you think makes care ‘dignified."
The day long event will be
held at the Glen Yr Afon Hotel in Usk on 27th March, 10-4:30pm.
The event is free and
includes lunch. If you would like to come to the event but need help with
getting there, help is available to cover costs for transport. Help is also
available if you need to arrange respite in order to attend the event; please
ask about the help on offer. Contact Sandy Spencer at Monmouthshire County
Council on 01633 644575, GAVO on 01291 672352.
