Potential school closures - consultation

Parents will have a chance to discuss the possible closure of Llanover and Govilon Primary Schools at public meetings this month.

On 24^th June 2009, Monmouthshire County Council's Cabinet decided to begin a formal statutory consultation period on the possible closure of Govilon and Llanover Primary Schools.

The consultation period began 2^nd September and will end on 16^th October 2009.

Trades unions, local councils and other interested parties will also be consulted.

Public meetings for parents, neighbours and any other interested members of the public will be held at 6pm at:

• Llanover Primary School on 14^th September 2009

• Govilon Primary School on 15^th September 2009

A meeting for other affected schools will be held at Llanfoist Fawr Primary School on 16^th September 2009 at 4.30pm.
