Have your say at
Planning Committee
Monmouthshire County Council's Planning Committee will have a slot for residents to have their say from July.
From 14 July the council is introducing public speaking to Planning Committee, where members of the public will be able
to put their point across.
There are limitations - at least five people must have made written objections, only one person can address committee and
speakers will be limited to three minutes.
Full details are available on the Council's web site - www.monmouthshire.gov.uk/planningcommittee - and a leaflet will be produced.
David Swanson, MCC's Development Control Manager, said:
"Public speaking at Planning Committee improves the involvement of objectors, supporters and applicants can make to the planning process.
"Many authorities have allowed speaking at committee and I'm pleased that Monmouthshire can now offer it to our citizens.
"I hope that all involved will find it helpful. We will review our experience after three months to see whether changes are required."
