Get your
skates on for a skatepark preview
Monmouthshire County Council invites young people to a preview of the new Skatepark in Abergavenny.
A new skatepark for Abergavenny is nearing completion after many years campaigning by local young people for such a facility to be in the town. The new skatepark is on Lower Meadow, behind the Youth and Community Centre building (formerly used as a Welsh Medium School) in Old Hereford Road.
On Thursday 7th
May, Mike Moran, Leisure and Recreation Manager will give visitors a guided tour of the Skatepark and will be available to answer any questions or queries that young people or centre users may have.
The Skatepark is due to be opened at the end of May and Mike is eager to show the local community what an exciting new facility they will have access to. A meeting with local residents has already taken place.
"We've tried to keep local
young people involved in the project all the way through and we are really pleased that the project is almost complete. We're inviting all interested parties to the preview - young people who are excited to use the park and centre users who may be curious about it or have some questions they may want to ask."
If you'd like to get a preview of Abergavenny Skatepark, visit Abergavenny Youth and Community Centre (next door to the Skatepark) on Thursday 7th May at 4.30pm.
