Credit Union Opens in Caldicot
Gateway Credit Union opens its newest Community Office at Caldicot Methodist Church next week, thanks to local volunteers and members of the Church who have offered to host the service.
The Credit Union office will
be open from 10am-12pm on Tuesdays, alongside the popular coffee morning run by the Church. Anyone can join, and the Credit Union offers a popular Christmas Saver Account, as well as the regular savings accounts and low cost loans. Parents and grandparents can also save for children.
Manager John Richards said:
"We are really excited
to be opening in Caldicot. We now have over 100 members in Monmouthshire, since expanding from our established area in Torfaen last year. We hope to attract members from all parts of the community, those who want to choose an ethical savings account, as well as people who really need our low cost loans as an alternative to the doorstep lenders and loan sharks."
Caldicot Councillor, Ron
Stewart is pleased that the union is coming to the area:
"Now more than ever we need
to support our local communities and help them make sensible decisions about money. The Credit Union offers a great service. I'm in full support and I'll even be handing out leaflets myself."
Anyone interested in joining
or volunteering with Gateway should call the Credit Union Office on 01495 750020, email sara@gatewaycu.co.uk, or call
in on a Tuesday morning. More information is on the website www.gatewaycu.co.uk .
