Calling all landlords

Monmouthshire County Council (MCC) are inviting you to join the Monmouthshire Landlord Forum (MLF) and get free accreditation training.

The forum, which meets twice a year, is a group of landlords working together for the benefit of one another and the Private Rental Market within Monmouthshire.

Becoming a member of the forum is easy and free.  There are many benefits including discounts with local suppliers and service providers, training events, news letters and access to advice.

The training, which usually costs £96, will give you official approval with the national Landlord Accreditation Wales (LAW) Scheme. The scheme recognises good landlords and helps them differentiate themselves from less reputable landlords who give the rental market a bad name. It also allows tenants to seek out professional landlords who offer good, well managed accommodation.

Mrs Lilly Sharma, a Monmouthshire landlord and member of the forum says:

To qualify for free training you must join the forum and either live or let within Monmouthshire.

You can attend one-day full training on 5th February 2009 at County Hall, Cwmbran or 10th March 2009 in Abergavenny.

Training places are limited so please join the Monmouthshire Landlord Forum as soon as possible.
