Are you
having trouble getting on the property ladder?
Monmouthshire County
Council (MCC) is keen to tackle the issue of affordable housing in the County,
and needs your help.
Members of the Strong
Communities Select Committee are asking residents to get in contact and tell
them their experience of accessing affordable housing in Monmouthshire.
Chair of the Committee,
Councillor Simon Howarth explains:
"We regularly hear how
difficult it is to get on the housing ladder or the long wait for rented
accommodation. This is something that we need to address and to do this we need
to hear real-life stories."
"Not only do we want to know
how difficult it has been for residents, but we also want to ask the question
‘what do you want?' What are your needs in terms of housing?"
The Committee plans to use
the feedback to help provide more affordable housing in the right places across
Monmouthshire.
Cllr Howarth is eager for
residents to get involved:
"We want to make this easy
for residents to contribute, so we will arrange informal meetings, visit
village halls, day centres and residential homes to hear people's views."
