Shane Smashes Course Record in Champion Win

It was a red letter day for Monmouth Golf Club Member Shane Spary on Sunday 28th June. Playing in the John Champion Cup, Shane took advantage of the excellent conditions to card a magnificent gross 62, net 56, since June 2007.

Shane recorded 11 pars and 7 birdies, and took only 22 putts during his round. Our picture shows Shane after his round holding his record card and still in a state of bewilderment!

For the record Josh Davies was second in Division One with a 70, net 62 and John Head third with 70,net 63.

In Division Two the victor was Andy Waldis, 82 net 63, second was John Reid 82 net 64 and third Keith Robertshaw 88, net 65.
