On Monday 24th November, a warrant, under the Misuse of Drugs Act was executed in the Carbonne Close area of Monmouth.

A quantity of an illegal substance was recovered from the premises. A 34 yr old male was detained and processed, pending further enquiries.

He will now be subject to a review of his tenancy. Police are stepping up patrols in the rural area of Monmouth, in the run up to Christmas, and in the wake of an increase in rural burglaries of outbuildings and sheds.

Local Police are working with other specialist departments in a co-ordinated attempt to apprehend offenders.

The police are welcoming the increase in calls from residents reporting sightings of suspicious vehicles in the community, and would encourage these to continue.

They would urge people to be extra vigilant and security conscious at this time. Quad Bikes and power tools are being targeted in recent events.
