LOCAL CRIMES
At
4.35am, Monday 1st December, following an alarm activation, it was discovered
that the Royal British Legion had been broken into and two gaming machines had
been stolen. This is the latest in a number of licensed premises being targeted
for this type of crime. (Crime Ref: BM/1291/08)
Overnight,
Wednesday 26th to Thursday 27th November, a front window of a property in White Swan Court
was smashed and the offender leant in and stole three charity boxes from the
counter. (Crime Ref: BM/1273/08)
Fuel
thefts continue: £400 worth from a yard at Mansons Cross at around 8.30pm on
Thursday 27th November, where a white Transit van was seen driving away. (Crime
Ref: BM/1274/08); also 1000lts of red diesel from Rolls of Monmouth Golf Club
between 10pm Thursday 27th and 6am Friday 28th November, value £500. (Crime
Ref: BM/1277/08).
Over
the weekend, 28th November to 1st December, Monmouth suffered a blitz of car
crime. Four vehicles were interfered with on the new Rockfield estate. Two vehicles in Priory Street had the tyres slashed.
A
Land Rover i/n F812 POO was stolen from Dixton Close. Six vehicles were entered and had property
stolen from within, two of these were in Glendower Street Car Park and the
other four were also on the Rockfield estate.
