Crimes:

Overnight Monday 12th to Tuesday 13th January, the Riverside Hotel was broken into and a 42" flat screen TV was stolen, value £800. Entry gained via rear cellar doors. (Crime Ref No. BM/47/09)

Results:

As the result of a recent Operation carried out by Monmouth Police during the period 16/12/08 to 28/12/08, where officers conducted high visibility patrols in the town and residential areas of Monmouth, 41 vehicle checks were carried out, 25 people were stopped and searched. Two were dealt with for possession of cannabis, one arrested for disqualified driving and one issued with a Sec 59 warning.

Arrests:

Two local males have been arrested, one in connection with the burglaries of the Hair Salons and the other for breaking into cars.

Some stolen items from the hair salons were recovered and identified by the losers.

The youth arrested for the car crime has been charged, but cannot be named for legal reasons, and will be appearing in court in due course.
