Kingfishers match reports in 140 characters.
Ever wondered why people use 400 words when less than half the amount will do. Monmouth Town's Kingfishers have decided on taking a novel approach to publishing their match reports by using the social networking site Twitter and you can now read about their exploits in the club's 'tweets' with match reports in less than 140 letters let alone words.
The Welsh League Club who also have a facebook site and a constantly updated web site are believed to be the first club in the UK to issue bite sized reports for their supporters who can't make the games or have limited access to a PC, Club Chairman Lee Robson explained "It's really a bit of fun as we have a few supporters who were travelling around the world who wanted to know how we were getting on. It's also a challenge to get the report down to 140 letters but when you boil a football match right down it ends up as a more accurate description of who you feel. "We wuz robbed" usually tells the whole story for us!
