Monmouth Ladies score at Brynhill.

A very warm and sunny Monday saw Monmouth Ladies First Team travel to Brynhill Golf Club in the Gwent Ladies Golf League. The Monmouth Ladies overcame their opponents and the heat, however, to record a victory by 31/2 to 11/2.

Mary Woollard defeated Ann Phillips 2up, Helen Green halved with Sam Pascoe, Pat Sullivan beat Sheila Williamson 3and2, Julie Rotchell beat Gemma Evans and Jean Evans lost to Audrey Phillips 1 down.

All the Monmouth Ladies played well and special mention must be made of Jean Evans, who stood in at the last moment, came up against a player with a much lower handicap on a strange course, off scratch and only just lost on the eighteenth green.
