MONMOUTH
GOLF CLUB
Come and play for free at what is ‘arguably' Wales'
prettiest golf course. Up until Sunday
18th April a number of tee times have been reserved each day for
golfers to test their skills at no cost at Monmouth Golf Club. This initiative - called Golf Awareness Week
- has been launched in conjunction with Golf Development Wales to encourage
beginners to take up the sport and nomadic golfers to consider joining the club
(a wide range of membership packages are on offer). Free ‘taster' golf lessons
are also being offered by Monmouth's resident PGA professional Richard Ballard.
Monmouth Golf Club was established in 1896 and the course is
recognised by members and visitors as being particularly attractive with views
across the historic town of Monmouth and over the
Wye Valley
to the Forest of Dean. Visitors are guaranteed a warm welcome from
the staff and members with senior male golfers invited to join in on a Tuesday
when the draw for partners is made at 9.45am. This ‘roll up' often attracts up to fifty players.
