Monmouth Cricket friendly
A HALF-century from Jonathan Roberts helped Monmouth Cricket
Club to an 18-run home win over Monmouth School Mowers in an entertaining
Twenty20 friendly.
Roberts hit 51 and was supported by Andy Thomas (27), David
Teague (22), Josh Grey (22) and Adam Roberts (18) in lifting the town club to
188-8.
Nick Goodsen (2-12), Tom
McCulloch (2-15) and Hannerman (2-23) were the pick of the Mowers' attack in
last week's clash at the Sports Ground.
Jon Despontin, Steve McQuitty, McCulloch, Hannerman and
Tatham all took good catches for the academics.
Tatham (61), McCulloch (59) and captain Shakeshaft (26) led
a spirited Mowers' reply but Monmouth hit back to contain the visitors to
170-6.
Adam Roberts (3-27) was the hosts' most successful bowler,
while skipper Teague (1-7) Josh Grey (1-20) and Mike Underwood (1-30), also
picked up wickets.
Jonathan Roberts, Underwood and Dan MacDonald all held
catches for the town outfit and wicket-keeper Cole McConchie made a neat
stumping.
The match balls were sponsored by Matthews and Jones Dental
Surgery and Nigel Morris Cleaning Limited.
